Sunday Post – Feb 23, 2020

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer. Here’s where I share a little about what I’ve been reading, (hopefully not) buying, and other bookish news.

Bookish news:

Books I read:

  • A Constellation of Half-Lives by Sema Reza – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
  • Follow Me to Ground by Sue Rainsford – ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Books purchased:

None! Again, I went to a bookstore and didn’t buy anything. Who even am I?

In progress:

  • Scythe by Neal Shusterman – I’ve been interested in this book for a while, but now that the series is completed, I’m more motivated to read it. So far, I am loving it. If you aren’t familiar, this book is about a society in which death no longer exists. To control the population, certain people are designated as “scythes” who glean at random. Spoilers, some scythes are not good people and do not follow the rules. There are some trope-y moments in this book, but there are also some really interesting discussions of morality and ethics.
  • Mistborn (The Final Empire) by Brandon Sanderson – Since this is a re-read for me, I’m trying it out as an audiobook. Turns out, it’s 24 hours long…I guess I’ll be listening on at least 1.5x speed. This is the second time I’m reading this, and I’m catching a lot of things that I didn’t before. So much foreshadowing!

TBR count: 74

The poetry collection A Constellation of Half-Lives was on my TBR, and Scythe is as well. Progress is happening!

Have a great reading week!
