📚 May wrap up 📚 ⠀⠀ I didn’t read as much as I wanted to in May, but now that I’m looking at this stack, I think I did just fine! ⠀⠀ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Way of Kings Words of Radiance ⠀⠀ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Edgedancer (novella found in Arcanum Unbounded) ⠀⠀ ⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Violent Bear It Away ⠀⠀ ⭐️ The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes (audiobook) ⠀⠀ My favorite book I read this month was Words of Radiance. My least favorite should be obvious... Y’all. They got Santino Fontana to narrate the audiobook, but they didn’t let him sing. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⠀⠀ Any book I read after this (possibly in perpetuity) will be a disappointment, because nothing can be as good as this book. I’m sure I’ll be proven wrong, but right now it certainly feels that way. ⠀⠀ This book made me feel all kinds of ways! I was angry, frustrated, surprised, delighted, and awed. I know part of this experience is tied up in Pandemic Emotions ™️, but I haven’t felt so strongly about characters in a while. ⠀⠀ Also, I can’t believe this is book 2 in a planned series of 10 books. I already feel like we are hurtling toward conclusion! It is finished! ⠀⠀ I have so many feelings and questions after reading this book, and I wanted to dive in to Words of Radiance right away. It is a masterful construction, and dare I say it, my new favorite Sanderson? ⠀⠀ I’ve noticed that people have very divided opinions about Shallan. 😂 I love her! I managed to finally finish one of the projects I started weeks ago. I repainted both of these bookshelves so they would match, and moved them to a newly open wall (because of course I’ve been rearranging every room in the house). ⠀⠀ The bookshelf on the left has our fantasy collection. Sanderson has the top shelf reserved, obviously. The shelf on the right contains my TBR, the books I’ve purchased and haven’t read yet. The top shelf has borrowed and Christmas book exchange books. On the very top, between quotation bookends, I have my monthly TBR. ⠀⠀ Loki seems to approve of the new arrangement!
